Google’s CIO Departs For EMI Music

Google’s de facto CIO, VP Engineering Douglas Merrill, Google’s resignation this week, the President of the digital culture for EMI Music business.
Merrill departure marks the second departure of a high-level executive of Google in the last month. In March, Sheryl has left his position as vice president of worldwide sales and operations online on Google for the post of Chief Operating Officer of Facebook.
In a statement, Guy Hands, CEO of Terra and president of the company EMI Group, Merrill’s business welcomed the intellect and his deep technical background. “His experience, talent and ability to innovation is invaluable for EMI and its artists,” said Hands.
